MEET TINA
"In the State Senate, I’m working hard to provide the residents of Palm Beach and Broward Counties with excellent representation and unparalleled constituent services. In addition to ensuring that our district has a strong voice in Tallahassee, I’m fighting every day to combat the radical Republican agenda by advocating for progressive solutions to the most pressing issues confronting our state including access to the ballot box, the rising cost of healthcare and the gun violence epidemic.”
— TINA SCOTT POLSKY
My name is Tina Scott Polsky.
I’m a mom, a mediator, an activist, and a
Democratic State Senator running for reelection
to continue serving the community I love.
When I was first elected to public office, I promised to always stand firmly in support of our Democratic values and to provide first-rate constituent services to the people of our district – whether they voted for me or not. Although I have now moved from the State House to the State Senate, my commitments remain as firm as ever.
My chief legislative priorities have included efforts to care for seniors; keep our community safe from gun violence; protect Florida’s natural environment; and advance equal rights. I have also sponsored legislation seeking to expand Medicaid; invest in affordable housing; improve access to unemployment benefits; crack down on hate crimes; and much more. Click here for additional information about my legislative record.
Throughout the pandemic, my office has been working overtime responding to the many health and economic challenges spurred by the virus. When access to antigen tests was lacking, direct action from my office resulted in the establishment of new testing locations throughout our district. When vaccination sites were inaccessible, I succeeded in pushing for locations closer to home – including directly within the senior communities of Kings Point, Century Village and Wynmoor. When Florida’s unemployment system broke down, my staff and I helped constituents get the money to which they were entitled by processing applications manually and making sure claims were not ignored by the Department of Economic Opportunity. I also held Governor DeSantis’ feet to the fire for his mishandling of this self-created crisis. Through the darkest days of the pandemic, I worked hand-in-hand with county-level officials and the Division of Emergency Management to ensure a coordinated response across all levels of government.
On the rare occasions when I am not “on the clock” as a State Senator, I also work as a certified mediator helping people settle disagreements by working toward common ground to avoid litigation. One of my practices, Elder Care Mediations, specializes in resolving family conflicts related to issues affecting seniors. As a result of this, I have become very active in the senior care community and I’m proud of the work I have done to bring families together and protect the elderly.
Civic engagement and giving back to my community have always been very important to me. I serve on the Anti-Defamation League’s Regional Board and as the director of the Mitzvah Club, a women’s organization with over 100 members which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local and national charities. I’m a long- time volunteer for charitable groups including the Alzheimer’s Association; Best Foot Forward; Pretzels for Parkinson’s; and Kindness Matters, where I founded two new clubs at local schools. I have volunteered on many Democratic political campaigns and am a graduate of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce’s “Leadership Boca” program.
My husband Jeff and I have been married for over two decades and have lived in Palm Beach County for 16 years. Jeff and I love our Florida life and we have been blessed with two amazing children – Rebecca and Jesse. Before settling in Boca Raton, I practiced law in New York after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania cum laude in 1990 and Columbia Law School in 1994. I worked at two large law firms and two companies in in-house roles before my husband and I created our own legal recruiting company. I also serve as a FINRA mediator and arbitrator.
Our family loves sports and we have travelled all over Florida (and beyond) for volleyball and soccer with our kids. I am an avid tennis player and have competed in the South Palm Beach County Women’s Tennis League for years. Putting my competitive edge to work on behalf of the people of District 29 has been the honor of a lifetime – but our work is far from done! I hope that you will consider helping my reelection effort by liking me on Facebook, making a financial contribution, or signing up to volunteer for the campaign.
